Privacy Policy.

MoneyMatters ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you visit our website.
Information We Collect
We collect information you voluntarily provide when you:
- Sign up for our community newsletter via the email form
- Contact us through the contact form
- Use our diagnostic and calculator tools
- Join MoneyMatters+ (coming soon)
This information may include your name and email address. Contact form submissions and newsletter signups are both stored directly in our own database. In addition to newsletter and contact form signups, our diagnostic and calculator tools collect the financial information you enter (income, balances, goals) in order to generate your results and, if you choose, connect you with a financial advisor. If you choose to be considered for an advisor match, we also derive a general value bucket from signals like investible assets, net worth, and opportunity size, used only to route your snapshot to advisors working in that range. We also automatically log the IP address associated with certain form submissions and account actions (verification requests, contact form, advisor-matching requests, deletion requests) for a limited time, solely to prevent abuse and enforce rate limits.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to generate your results, save your progress, send relevant follow-ups, and administer your MoneyMatters+ subscription if you have one. If you create an account, you can view and edit your saved tool results at any time from your personal dashboard, download them as a PDF, or email a copy to yourself. We do not sell your information. We disclose information to third parties only as described in this Privacy Policy, including to participating advisors when you separately opt in to advisor matching.
How We Share Your Information With Advisors
If you opt in to be connected with an advisor, MoneyMatters does not simply hand your information to a single advisor as a one-off referral. Instead, you're placed into a value bucket based on signals like investible assets, net worth, and opportunity size. Advisors in our network can browse users within their bucket. What they see is a snapshot: your first name, a general age bracket, family composition, the location detail you've chosen to share (see below), and your financial signals. They do not see your last name, email, phone number, or any other direct contact information at this stage.
Because advisors browse within a bucket rather than receiving a single assigned referral, more than one advisor may see your snapshot before you connect with anyone. Opting in means consenting to be browsed by advisors in your bucket. Not to being handed off to one specific advisor. An advisor who wants to pursue a match shares their own profile with you, and you decide whether to take the meeting. Nothing is shared with an advisor unless you've opted in to this matching process.
Optional Situational Details
When you opt in to advisor matching, you can separately choose to add situational details to your snapshot (for example, "expecting an inheritance," "recently sold a business," or "new to investing") to help match you with an advisor who specializes in your situation. This is its own explicit choice: we never infer or add these details on your behalf, and you can opt in to advisor matching without providing any of them.
Optional Sharing of Your Financial Snapshot
Separately from the situational details above, you can choose whether your financial snapshot is included in what advisors see: your Financial Health Score, and the results from any of our free tools you've completed (Net Worth, Budget, Retirement, and Investment). This is its own checkbox, off by default. Opting in to advisor matching does not automatically share this information. If you don't check it, advisors reviewing your request will not see your score or any tool results. You can also separately add a broader, self-reported Net Worth range, Credit Score range, or Household Income range (for example, "$250k–$500k"), never an exact figure beyond what a completed tool itself calculated.
Location Shown to Advisors
You choose and confirm the level of location detail that appears in your advisor snapshot (for example, a metro area or region) rather than us defaulting to a fixed level of detail for everyone. You're free to pick something broad enough that you're comfortable with it.
Your Choices
You can withdraw consent to be matched with an advisor at any time. Advisor bucket-browsing is opt-in, not a blanket agreement made at signup, and you can stop it going forward whenever you like.
You can download a copy of everything MoneyMatters has on file for your account below, or request deletion of your data at any time using the form further down, or by reaching out via our Contact page. Deletion requests are reviewed and processed by our team within 14 days. Once complete, we remove your account record and any diagnostic answers on file from our active systems, except where information is retained for a limited time in backups or as required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes. This is a manual review process today, not an instant self-service action, so you'll get a confirmation email when your request is received and again once it's done.

Business Transfers
If MoneyMatters is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of its business or assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. Any party that receives it would remain bound by this Privacy Policy, or a successor policy we notify you of.
Cookies and Analytics
If you create an account, we set a first-party session cookie so you can stay signed in. It is used only for authentication, not for tracking or analytics, and isn't shared with any third party. Separately, we use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand site traffic and usage patterns; GA4 may set cookies for this purpose. The financial information you enter into our diagnostic and calculator tools (income, balances, goals, and similar figures) is never sent to Google Analytics or any other tracking tool.
