MoneyMatters.

Terms of Service.

Draft — not yet reviewed by an attorney. This page is a working draft only. It is not final, not legally reviewed, and not binding. It's posted here in the interest of transparency while MoneyMatters works with legal counsel to finalize real Terms of Service. Sections marked "to be finalized" below are placeholders that a licensed attorney will draft or review before this page is treated as effective.

Last updated: draft posted August 2026 · not yet effective

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using MoneyMatters (the "Service," available at money-matters.site and any related applications), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. MoneyMatters may update these Terms from time to time; continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. What MoneyMatters Is

MoneyMatters provides financial self-assessment tools (a "Financial Health Score" and "Net Worth" diagnostic), budgeting/retirement/investment calculators, educational content, and optional matching with independent, third-party financial advisors. MoneyMatters is not a registered investment advisor, broker-dealer, financial planner, accountant, or law firm, and nothing on the Service constitutes personalized financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Tool outputs and diagnostic results are for informational and educational purposes only and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for any financial decision.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding contract to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

4. Accounts

Account access uses passwordless email verification. You are responsible for maintaining control of the email address associated with your account and for all activity under your account. Notify MoneyMatters promptly of any unauthorized use.

5. MoneyMatters+ Subscription

MoneyMatters+ is an optional paid subscription ($5/month unless otherwise stated) providing access to advanced tools and features described on the MoneyMatters+ page at time of purchase. Subscriptions are billed via Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Promotional offers (e.g., free periods for early users) are subject to the terms stated at the time they're offered and may be modified or discontinued at MoneyMatters's discretion for users who have not yet claimed them.

6. Advisor Matching

MoneyMatters may, at your explicit opt-in request, share information you provide with independent third-party financial advisors for the purpose of a potential client relationship. MoneyMatters does not endorse, guarantee, supervise, or take responsibility for the advice, conduct, or outcomes of any advisor you connect with. Advisors in the MoneyMatters network are represented to hold CFP® certification and operate on a fee-only, fiduciary basis at the time of vetting; MoneyMatters does not continuously audit advisor conduct after a match is made. Any engagement you enter into with an advisor is solely between you and that advisor. MoneyMatters may receive a referral fee from advisors for facilitating a match; this fee does not affect which advisor you are matched with. See the Privacy Policy for how your information is used and shared.

7. User Conduct

You agree not to: misrepresent your identity; use the Service for any unlawful purpose; attempt to access another user's data or account; interfere with or disrupt the Service's operation; scrape, reverse-engineer, or resell any part of the Service without written permission; or submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information (including in advisor-matching submissions).

8. User Content

If MoneyMatters offers community features (e.g., a Discord server, feedback submissions, or reviews) now or in the future, you are solely responsible for any content you submit. MoneyMatters may remove content or suspend access at its discretion for violations of these Terms or applicable law. MoneyMatters is not responsible for user-submitted content and does not endorse opinions expressed by users in community spaces.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, text, graphics, tools, and underlying code, is owned by MoneyMatters (or its licensors) and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without written permission.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. MoneyMatters does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any diagnostic result, calculator output, or educational content. Financial decisions made based on information from the Service are your own responsibility.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MoneyMatters and its owners, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or financial outcome, arising from your use of the Service or any advisor relationship formed through it. MoneyMatters's total liability for any claim shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid MoneyMatters in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $100. [To be finalized: this liability cap is pending confirmation from counsel for the applicable jurisdiction and business model.]

12. Dispute Resolution / Arbitration

[To be finalized by counsel. This section — governing arbitration terms, class-action waiver, and any opt-out rights — has not yet been drafted and is intentionally left blank pending attorney review, rather than publishing unreviewed arbitration language.]

13. Termination

MoneyMatters may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, including for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time per the Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to the Service

MoneyMatters may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without liability.

15. Governing Law

[To be finalized: governing law and venue, set by counsel based on MoneyMatters's entity of incorporation and where it operates.]
